What is Notify Me?
Notify Me allows you to get up-to-date notices on news, job postings, events, etc. You can sign up and have notifications of these and other items by email, mobile phone text message (SMS), or both.
Who should sign up?
Anyone who wants to be kept up-to-date without having to check the Town of Richmond's website constantly. The service is free and the Town of Richmond will never sell or use your email address or phone number for any other purpose. You can unsubscribe from the service at anytime.
How do I sign up?
After reading reading these instructions you can go to the Notify Me sign up page and follow these easy steps:
- Type your email address in the box and select Sign In.
- If you want to receive text messages, enter your phone number and select Save.
- When you find a topic that intrests you, you can subscribe by clicking the buttons next to the item:
- Email Notification
- Text Message / SMS Notification
- You will be prompted about confirming your subscription. Just follow the instructions.
Questions
Do I have to give my phone number?
No. If you do not want to use the mobile alerts feature, then you do not need to provide your mobile number.
Are the text messages free?
Yes, with most mobile plans. The Town of Richmond does not charge, nor do we send 'premium' text messsages. As long as your mobile carrier does not charge you for incoming messages, there is no fee.
What if I no longer want to receive messages?
You can unsubscribe from one or all of the lists that you signed up for anytime on the Notify Me sign up page.
What is CivicPlus?
CivicPlus is the vendor that the Town of Richmond utilizes for our website and text messaging (SMS) services. When you get a text message from the Town of Richmond, you may see references to CivicPlus. This is perfectly normal.
