Richmond Animal Control

Animal Control van

The animal control officer is responsible for enforcing animal-related laws and ordinances, responding to animal-related complaints, and ensuring the safety and well-being of animals in the community. They handle a variety of calls, from rescuing domestic stray animals, investigating reports of animal cruelty, and educating the public on responsible pet ownership.

Dog Licensing

The State of Rhode Island and Town of Richmond require each dog living in the Town of Richmond to be licensed yearly. Licenses are available beginning April 1st annually. It is the owner's responsibility to renew their dog's license each year. Find additional information about dog licensing on the Town Clerk's page.
