Dog Park Committee
The Richmond Dog Park Committee has developed a beautiful, well-maintained space open to all dog lovers and friends who are willing to uphold the park’s posted rules, restrictions and regulations. This park is a community asset, designed to satisfy the needs of dog owners and non-dog owners alike. The dog park provides personal and community enrichment through the promotion and well-being of the citizens and canines of Richmond and surrounding communities. Our regional park will be fully accessible, eco-friendly, and bring the community together.
Mission
The mission of the Richmond Dog Park is to establish a safe, fenced-in, sustainable, and owner-supervised off-leash dog park where well-behaved canine citizens can satisfy their socialization needs, interests and exercise in a clean, safe environment without endangering or annoying people, property or wildlife.
Visit the Richmond Dog Park

Dog Park Rules
Be nice
- Don't come before dawn or leave after dusk.
- Parking is available and easy to get to.
- Respect peace, privacy and property of the neighbors.
Be Safe
- Let your dog off leash only AFTER YOU'VE ENTERED through and closed the outer gate.
- Prong (spike) and choke collars must be removed prior to entry.
- Puppies must be at least 4 months old to enter the fenced-in area.
- Never leave your dog unsupervised. Unattended dogs will be impounded.
- Supervise no more than 2 dogs per adult per visit.
- You must be at least 16 years old to bring a dog into the park unless accompanied by an adult.
- Children under the age of 10 are not allowed inside the fenced-in area.
- Provide water and a bowl for your dog.
Be Respectful
- Dogs must have a current town dog license on non-choke collar, and be inoculated, parasite-free and healthy.
- NO POOP LEFT BEHIND! Owners must immediately clean up after their dog. Not following this rule will result in the park being locked.
- Do not smoke or bring glass containers or alcohol into the park.
- No matter how cute your dog looks while digging, please ask them not to dig in the park, and promptly fill in the holes they dug. (if your dog is a professional digger, you might need to bring your own)
- Remember, YOU are the owner! Owners must always be in verbal control of their dogs to prevent aggressive behavior and carry a leash.
- Everyone has their moods, but if your furry friend becomes rough or unruly, we ask you to promptly leash him/her and leave for the day. Dogs exhibiting a continuous history of aggressive behavior will not be allowed back in the park indefinitely.
- Please don't bring your female dogs in heat in the park.
And Remember:
- Owners are legally responsible and liable for their dogs and any injuries caused by them.
- Violators will be removed from the park. Repeat offenders will be banned indefinitely.
